In addition to overseeing the daily operations of Capacity Center, Mr. Hinton is a Skipping Stone Principal specializing in analysis,
simulation and optimization of energy transport and generation systems. Steve is an experienced Mechanical and System Engineer with first-hand knowledge of design, construction and operation of utility plants and infrastructure.

At Skipping Stone Steve has served as Project Engineer for pipeline feasibility, performance and due-diligence studies for Desert Crossing Gas Storage and Transmission System LLC; the purchase and/or construction of five interstate natural gas transmission pipelines; the evaluation of another dozen other interstate natural gas pipeline and storage assets for purchase by clients; and the East of California Customers’ motion to intervene in the FERC hearings on El Paso Pipeline’s role in California’s energy shortage.

For other firms, Steve has served as power plant operations engineer and system’s design engineer on multiple facilities including a 1150 MW electric generation station.
